Task Overview

Objective

The objective is to document the SPRA methodology used and the results of the study in a manner that is useful for peer review, updating and applying to risk informed applications.

Purpose

This section describes a modular notebook structure for documenting an SPRA.

Guidance

The individual notebooks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Seismic Methods and Results Notebook
- Describes the key elements of the SPRA model process including PSHA, internal event PRA, success criteria, walkdown observations, SSC fragilities, guidelines, treatment of consequential hazards and the quantitative results.
- The Seismic Methods and Results Notebook could be expanded to develop separate notebooks to document Consequential Hazards and the Quantitative Results if preferred by the SPRA analyst.
  • Seismic Initiating Events Notebook
- Documents the analysis of the initiating event categories from seismic hazard intervals, frequencies, error factors and ground motion calculations
  • Seismic Event Tree Notebook
- Explains the event tree sequence quantification of postulated accident scenarios in the SPRA.
  • Seismic Human Reliability Notebook
- Develops and recommends the best estimate of HEPs for use in the SPRA.
  • Seismic Fragility Modeling Notebook
- Evaluates fragility frequencies from the failure of an SSC and explains how these are modeled into the SPRA
  • Seismic Plant Walkdown Notebook
- Documents plant-specific observations and aspects that would support the reasonableness of the seismic impacts to be incorporated into the SPRA.
